Massage Therapy

PLEASE NOTE the cancellation policy for RMT appointments: We require a minimum of 24 hours notice to make changes or cancel your appointment. If you do not show up for your appointment without cancelling/contacting us, this is considered a No-Show and you will be responsible for paying a minimum of 50% of your service fee (which is not covered by insurance).


Physiotherapy

Dr. Leah Gibeault began her academic career at Wilfrid Laurier University with a double major in Honours Biology and Chemistry and a Diploma in Business Administration. She then went on to graduate from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College where she received her Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree with Clinic Honours and on the Dean’s List.

Dr. Leah is a registered chiropractor in Ontario, a member of the Ontario Chiropractic Association, Canadian Chiropractic Association and College of Chiropractors of Ontario (www.cco.on.ca). She is also certified in Contemporary Medical Acupuncture from McMaster University, Active Release Technique (ART), Graston Technique and holds special interest certificates in paediatric injuries, running injury treatment and prevention, golf conditioning and treatment, hockey injuries, and women’s health.

Dr. Leah has been involved in and still enjoys hockey, rock climbing, hot yoga, softball, beach volleyball and recreational running. She has had experience working with an array of healthcare practitioners and is proud to be a part of the talented multidisciplinary team at QCC.

Lisa graduated from the Massage Therapy Program at the Royal Institute of Science and Management and registered with CMTO in 2011. She has been practicing massage therapy for 10 years and has worked in various multidisciplinary clinics.

She has additional training in reflexology, mental heal first aid Bisic, and Wu’s head massage. Lisa specializes in Swedish relaxation massage, deep tissue massage, Tuina, therapeutic massage, trigger point therapy, and prenatal massage. She also has experience in treating chronic pain caused by factors such as sports injuries, the peripheral nervous system, strain from overuse, and post-surgical conditions.

She would like to share her knowledge with her clients and will treat each one with respect and care. She uses a variety of techniques to meet a client’s specific needs, providing a safe and effective form of treatment that will help the client maintain their health and wellbeing.

Dr. Melanie Chryssafis is a graduate from McMaster University where she received an honours bachelor degree in Kinesiologyas well as the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College where she received her Doctor of Chiropractic (DC).

To aid with the healing of everyday strains and sprains, Dr. Melanie also provides her patients with Active Release Technique (ART) and Acupuncture therapy, which she is certified through the Acupuncture Foundations of Canada Institute. She has also taken various ICPA (The International Chiropractic Pediatric Association) and pre/post natal chiropractic education courses.

Dr. Melanie ran cross country and track throughout high school and university and has competed in numerous half and full marathons. She also enjoys playing soccer and floor hockey.

Dr. Patricia Galata received her Doctor of Chiropractic degree at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in Toronto in 2013, and her Contemporary Medical Acupuncture Diploma at McMaster University also in 2013. Previously, Dr. Galata obtained her Honours Bachelor of Science degree from York University. Additionally, Dr. Galata is trained in Active Release Technique and FAKTR (Functional and Kinetic Treatment/Rehab).

Her interest in science and love of sports provided the foundation to become involved in the health care field. She has worked with a diverse population including children and seniors and believes that everyone has the potential to achieve their own optimal well-being through the use of non-invasive and complimentary health care approaches.

Dr. Galata practices diversified technique and uses evidence-based guidelines to provide the best treatment techniques. Mobilization and manipulation therapy, patient education, exercise prescription, and acupuncture are just some of the tools she uses to care for patients.

Dr. Galata enjoys being active as well as spending time with family and friends, traveling and staying current with the most up-to-date literature on health care.

Theresa graduated from the Canadian College of Massage & Hydrotherapy in 2012. She has experience in a range of settings, including but are not limited to neurological rehabilitation, interdisciplinary environments and in-home visits.

Theresa is skilled in providing many modalities in her practice, including: myofascial release, Thai yoga massage, lymphedema massage, general Swedish massage, including deep tissue massage, trigger-point therapy, stretching, and NKT.

NKT, or Neurokinetic Therapy, has become Theresa’s true specialty. She combines this technique into each treatment to help her patients maintain and correct muscle imbalances which allows for longer pain relief. Her number one objective is to deliver exceptional care and help her patients achieve optimal outcomes that enhance their quality of life.
